Mind linking of them ?

Eh I don't want to be that much of a dick and call specific people out, just in general it's something I see a lot

I hear you,I just wanted to see if what you were saying was true or not.
Good luck though, one day..you'll have more than fans than them.

I wanna see a link.

On exposure, if you're on twitter, it's a great tool, and tags are your friends

You know what, fuck it, here http://queenofhearts67.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=/
Granted it's on deviantart, which is not exactly known for it's quality artists, but this person has 600 watchers. They've been on the site roughly as long as I have on my newer account and I only have like 150, I won't even act like I'm not butt hurt as fuck about it.

Hm. I've been avoiding twitter like the plague tbh, but that's not a bad idea.

Hm... Can't say I've seen that, but I don't doubt that it is happening.
Does bring up the question of whether they've got a selling point which isn't necessarily their art.

That's what I'm really curious about, I just don't see how really terrible or mediocre artists get the fairly huge followings they do. I've no doubt they're nice people but I mean??

Maybe you should flash sum boobs. :3

Already taking off my bra

I mean, for me, personally, it could be that my main selling point is music, and not artwork. Some people may have a greater following for their posts on the General forum -- which reminds me, whether or not they *are* nice is dubious at best -- and then their drawings don't really add up to the number of fans they get. I have seen one or two examples, but that was a while ago.

Eh it hardly bothers me if people get fans from General (that's where a few of my fans came from and most are chill) or fans for other stuff, but when their main selling point is art, and their art isn't very good, and they get HUNDREDS of people following them for their not very good art, I just don't understand. Makes me salty af

The art is mediocre at best, yeah, but maybe they just like a bunch of other people's shit to get exposure and watches. You never know.

Its a shitty situation to be in.
All I can say is focus on your work.
There work is geared towards being very cutsie and DA is not NG.
People on there live in a happy bubble where criticism isnt allowed.
And horrific art is allowed to flourish.
You do deserve a lot more watchers your stuff is good.
People on deviantart really love a good gif animation.
Maybe try one of those.
You are a brave woman for speaking out like this and cudos for saying it.
It can be a very touchie subject if the everything is art crowd show up.
The thats just your opinion dont call it bad when its a god awful stick drawing of sonic.
Anyways all the best but people that dont deserve attention get it and those that do dont.
Thats part of being an artist just keep grinding.

I actually did an experiment where I started an account on DA and only drew shitty chibis for popular fandoms, it was depressing how fast that grew. But yeah, I know NG is a lot better when it comes to criticism, even if it's harsh, which is why I really prefer it to most sites I submit art to.
But thanks man, and thanks for checking out my stuff I really appreciate it

I have more than twice as many fans as you and I draw like a toddler.

If it makes you feel any better, I have absolutely no idea which twisting life path I walked down to reach this one single point of existence. All I know is that I accidentally stepped on a butterfly somewhere and wound up in a universe where the "Exposure vs. Talent" graph is decidedly non-linear.

That's why I have more fans than you even though I don't really make stuff (sans my part in the 20th Anniversary Collab), and somewhere in the wide expanse of the Internet some guy is literally getting millions of dollars a year to yell at little kids while playing video games.

But if success were driven by raw talent then Steve Jobs would have died penniless, Michael Bay would be out of a job, artists' paintings would be worth money before they die, Newgrounds would make more money than Youtube, and Mark Zuckerberg would find his true calling of sucking dicks for cash.

Did you get all your fans by sucking dicks for cash? Because I'm weighing my options and that seems like it might be the best way to get my name out there, if I'm just a grade a cocksucker, or like chap said I could flash my boobs.
Now that I think about it maybe I should just do porn.

There's no shame in that.

If you can make money just by having sex, why wouldn't you? That's like being payed to eat. Or to breathe. Or to pop bubble wrap. Or those aforementioned lucky fucks who get paid to play video games and yell at children.

You'd have to be pants-on-head-retarded to turn down any of those jobs.
